Client Naming Best Practices
Good Names
- "Acme Corporation" - Full company name
- "Acme Corp" - Common abbreviation
- "John Smith Consulting" - Individual client with context
Names to Avoid
- "Client 1" - Not descriptive
- "Test" - May cause confusion later
- Very long names that truncate in the UI
Slug Guidelines
The slug is used internally to identify the client. It must:
- Contain only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens
- Be unique across all your clients
- Not start or end with a hyphen
Examples:
- "Acme Corp" →
acme-corp - "John Smith Consulting" →
john-smith-consulting
Brand Colors
Brand colors help visually identify client-related items:
- Click the color picker for Primary Brand Color
- Select a color that represents the client's brand
- Optionally set a Secondary Brand Color for accents
The default colors are:
- Primary:
#3b82f6(blue) - Secondary:
#8b5cf6(purple)
Troubleshooting

You've reached your plan's client limit:
- Plus plan: 25 clients maximum

To add more clients, either upgrade your plan or delete unused clients.
"A client with this slug already exists" error
The slug must be unique. Either:
- Edit the slug to be unique
- Check if you already have a client with a similar name
Client not appearing in list
- Refresh the page
- Check that you're viewing the correct team in the sidebar
- Verify the creation was successful (no error message)
