How to Export Your Data
You can export your data for backup, migration, or record-keeping purposes. This guide covers the available export options.
Prerequisites
Before you begin:
- You must be signed in to your account
- You need owner or admin permissions for team data exports
- Sufficient storage for downloaded files
Steps
Step 1: Navigate to Settings
- Click your avatar or account menu
- Select Settings
- Go to the Data or Export section
Step 2: Choose What to Export
Select the data you want to export:

| Tasks & Notes | All tasks, notes, and their metadata |
| Files | Uploaded documents and assets |
| Workflows | Workflow definitions (JSON) |
| Profile | Public profile content and settings |

Step 3: Select Export Format
Choose your preferred format:

| JSON | Technical use, importing elsewhere |
| CSV | Spreadsheets, analysis |
| ZIP | Complete backup with files |
Step 4: Configure Export Options
Depending on the export type:
- Date Range — Export data from specific time period
- Include Archived — Include archived items
- Include Attachments — Download associated files
Step 5: Start the Export
Click Export or Generate Export. For large exports:
- You'll see a progress indicator
- An email notification is sent when complete
- Download link is available in Settings
Step 6: Download Your Export
Once ready:
- Click the Download button
- Save the file to your computer
- Verify the download completed successfully
Expected Result
After exporting:
- You have a local copy of your data
- Export includes all selected data types
- Files are organized and named clearly
- JSON/CSV files are properly formatted
Troubleshooting
Export takes too long
Large exports may take time. Check:
- You're not exporting unnecessary date ranges
- Files can be exported separately if large
- The email notification for completion
Download link expired
Export links typically expire after 24-48 hours. Generate a new export if needed.
Missing data in export
Verify:
- You selected all required data types
- Your permissions include the missing data
- Archived items were included if needed
File won't open
Check the file format:
- JSON opens in text editors or JSON viewers
- CSV opens in Excel, Google Sheets
- ZIP needs extraction before viewing
Export contains errors
The file may be corrupted. Try:
- Generating a new export
- Downloading in a different browser
- Checking your internet connection
Data Formats
JSON Structure

CSV Fields
Each CSV includes headers matching the data type. For example, tasks export includes:
id,title,status,created_at,project_id, etc.
