How to Create a New Project
Projects are the central organizing unit for your work. This guide walks you through creating a new project from scratch.
Prerequisites
Before you begin:
- You must be signed in to your account
- You need at least one team (created automatically with your account)
Steps
Step 1: Navigate to Projects
From any page, click Projects in the sidebar navigation. This opens the Projects list view.
Step 2: Click New Project
Look for the New Project button in the top-right corner of the Projects page. Click it to open the project creation form.
Step 3: Fill in Project Details
Complete the form fields:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | A descriptive name for your project (e.g., "Website Redesign") |
| Description | No | Brief summary of what this project is about |
| Client | No | Associate the project with an existing client |
Step 4: Create the Project
Click Create Project to save. You'll be redirected to your new project's overview page.
Expected Result
After creating the project:
- The project appears in your Projects list
- You're taken to the project's overview page
- The project is ready for files, tasks, feedback boards, and GitHub repos
Troubleshooting
"Name is required" error
The project name field cannot be empty. Enter at least one character.
Project doesn't appear in list
Try refreshing the page. If the issue persists, check that you're viewing the correct team's projects in the sidebar.
Can't find the New Project button
Make sure you're on the Projects page (not inside an existing project). The button only appears on the main Projects list view.
